We are home from our road trip. I had to cook something today to get those gas grills out of my system! What better than a couple racks of baby back ribs?
When I cook ribs, I always put a spicy rub on them and let them marinade for a few hours before starting to cook. I sear them on direct heat for a few minutes before moving to indirect for 2 hours. Final step in my recipe is to cut up the racks into individual pieces and put in a covered dish with a lot of BBQ sauce - cook in oven on low heat for 45 minutes or so before serving.
This hoisin-glaze recipe has you put salt and pepper on the ribs and then cook them over indirect heat an hour before you start basting with the hoisin sauce. I thought they came out great - falling off the bone and very tasty. The hoisin sauce sort of makes a glaze rather than the bbq sauce I usually have on the ribs which is finger lick'n good but requires lots of paper towels.
Mrs. Grill'n made some good slaw which went well with the ribs.

This was delicious! The hoisin sauce is great with ribs, of course, and we all had a yummy time with it. Messy, like all rib recipes, but that's the fun.
