April 6 - Washington D.C. Wisconsin Grill'n's road show continues with a stop in D.C. to see my Mom and my brother Jack and his family. The lemongrass and curry chicken was very good but just on the edge of too spicey for some. The salsa went very well with it and cut some of the spiceyness.
My sister-in-law, Julie, showed me a trick for peeling and slicing mangos. cut off one end so you can sit the mango upright. score down the side so it looks like the laces on a football. Start at the top with a knife and just peel down each strip. Works like a charm. Then you can slice the fruit away from the core very easily. Much better than trying to peel while holding the slippery little football!! The salsa also had papaya in it. Anyone know any tricks for peeling and cutting papaya?
My Mom and Charlie did a lot of the chopping for the salsa which was much appreciated!
By-the-way, Jack has a gas grill which is a rule violation. The judges let it go since it was an away game!
